Friday Favourites

I can’t believe another week has gone by already. It doesn’t seem like it has been long enough for it to be yet another Friday, and it doesn’t really feel like I’ve achieved much over the last week either!

Pole class. Second to last class for the term and even though I was feeling like crap I still got my butt into gear and went there anyway, go me!

Nutrimetics Beauty Club. I had training on Monday night and we did a couple of things, first looked at how to build the business through party bookings. Then second I got to play with the new Professional Colour Illusion Eyeshadows which was great, they are so nice and soft and creamy to use.

Aquapole. Yes another class again this week, I’m really enjoying seeing my girls each week and hoping to book something else in after this so we can keep catching up!

Bellabox. My June bellabox arrived this week as well which is exciting. There was so much in it the box was literally bursting. Can’t wait to get into it and try everything out.

I hope you have had a great week this week. I’d love if you could share the highlights from your week in the comments.

Take care,

Jas

Another week has gone by and I don’t know about you but mine has been pretty jam packed.

Pole class turn private lesson. On Saturdays my pole classes are at 8am, which understandably it’s hard for some people to find the motivation. We’re a few weeks in to term now and it was only me at the last class so it turned into a bit of a private lesson as well which was great.

Lunch with my grandparents. On Sunday I caught up with my grandparents for lunch for the first time in a while which was nice.

Home away from home. With everything that’s going on in my personal life it was nice to take a bit of time away from home and stay at my Dad’s for the week while he was away. My dog and I even enjoyed a nice walk in the reserve that backs on to the house.

Business cards arrived. I ordered some business cards for Nutrimetics and they arrived in the post this week, woohoo!

Nutrimetics Centre Stage. Nutrimetics held a centre stage event called the Professional Make-up Masterclass where we got to hear about the newest eye shadow Nutrimetics have brought out in their professional make-up range.

Monarto Zoo Volunteer Day. I had a lovely day up at the zoo on Wednesday, it was only 2 degrees when I got up there but the sun was shining brightly and it turned out to be a lovely day.

Aquapole. Another week and another workout with a couple of my girlfriends, I am enjoying being able to see them every week!

See what I mean about a jam packed week! I hope you all had a great week and please feel free to share your highlights in the comments.

Take care,

Jas

I’m a bit late with the Friday Favourites, but a few good things happened over the past week, so late or not I’m going to share what has been going on. I hope you have all had a great week as well, as always feel free to share with me any highlights from your week.

The High Tea Party. A couple of girlfriends and I went to The High Tea Party last weekend which was held at the Hilton Hotel in Adelaide. It was a lovely event with nice food and lots of shopping stalls as well. So all very bad for the waistline and wallet, but still a lot of fun!

Massage. I had a remedial massage last Monday by a guy who I haven’t been to in years. He used to come into my old work and do office massages but then finished up with that company and I’d lost contact with him till I heard about another lady I know seeing him and was able to get his number. It was excruciatingly painful because I haven’t had a proper remedial massage in so long, but then my body felt so good and was holding so much less tension in the muscles.

The Big Chop. I had all my hair cut off. Ok well, not all of it, but a significant amount of it. I’d kept my hair long, I don’t mind long hair and my now ex-partner preferred it long. But then I decided it’s time to go back to having short hair which I absolutely love, and it just feels oh so good!

Nutrimetics. At The High Tea Party the Nutrimetics company was there and I’d been tossing up whether or not to join as a Consultant and so I took the opportunity to chat with a couple of the ladies about how the company is run and what the profits are for it. In the end I decided to join up. I’m a bit nervous and a bit excited about the opportunity.

Lunch. On Thursday I caught up with one of my work mates for lunch which was nice. We haven’t gone out for a while so it was nice to sit down and have a good chin wag for a while.

How was the last week for you all, was it a good one?

Take care,

Jas

What a productive week I’ve had, so much has been going on!

Pole class. I had my dance class on Saturday and we started learning the routine this week which is always fun.

Shopping. I met up with a couple of girlfriends on Sunday and we went looking for clothes to wear to a high tea that we’re going to in a couple of weeks. Well they looked, I was just there for the company as I already have a dress to wear.

Pamphlet delivery. So I signed up to do pamphlet delivery, the pay is crap really but I thought why pay to go to the gym and walk when I can get someone else to pay me to walk. So we’ll see how it goes.

Lunch. I went to lunch with a girlfriend which was nice, it was good to catch up, we haven’t been out for a while.

Coffee and cake. One of my staff took me out for coffee and cake today, she had noticed that things hadn’t been so great for me lately and was worried about me. It was nice to have someone just notice like that and ask if I was ok.

How has your week been? Did anything special happen?

Take care,

Jas

This past week has actually gone by really quickly, I can’t believe it’s  mid-April!

Africa holiday. I mentioned last week that I had decided to go on an African Safari holiday through Tanzania and Rwanda. Last weekend I forked over quite a sum of money for flights and the safari deposit, so that’s it, I’m really going!

Flexibility class. On Saturday I had my weekly flexibility class, and my stretchiness is definitely improving which is great.

Friends birthday dinner. One of my closest girlfriends turned 30 last Sunday so she left the kids at home with her parents and we caught up for dinner on the Saturday night which was awesome, we had a really good time.

Family catch up. On Sunday my partner and I caught up with my Dad and Step-Mum for lunch and then headed over to my grandparents place for afternoon tea. It was nice to catch up and spend some time together, we don’t really do it too often.

Monarto Zoo. I had a volunteer day on Wednesday and am now officially a “Mallee Minder”, yay! The highlight for the day up there was rounding up the wallabies for their vet check, oh man that’s a lot of effort.

I hope you all had a great week, if there are any highlights you’d like to share just add them in the comments!

Take care,

Jas

Friday Favourites

There’s quite a bit of turmoil happening in my life at the moment so I am struggling to pick some highlights for the past week, but then that was the point of these posts anyway. When I’m feeling down this makes me reflect on the good things that happened in the previous week rather than only thinking about the not so good things.

Drifting competition. My partner’s drifting competition was last Saturday and he did pretty well despite a couple of car issues. It’s a very long day but at least the weather was beautifully warm, and I took a magazine with me so I was able to read a bit when I wasn’t watching him.

Date night. I say date night, but it was actually a day that we had put aside which deliberately focussed on me and what I needed to feel loved. I wrote a list of things from which my partner got to pick two (and another two next time, and so on until I have to write a new list), and I got a massage and we played a boardgame together.

Day off. I took Wednesday off work, and feel really grateful I can just call my boss and tell him that I need to chuck a sickie to take care of some things, like this day. It was spent doing things to care for me while things are a bit down, and so I saw my psychiatrist which made me feel a lot better and more secure and validated I guess, in how I’m feeling.

I haven’t regressed. Coming out the tail-end of having an eating disorder and having some struggles at the moment, it is really challenging for me not to slide back into my old habits, but I’ve done it so far which makes me happy with my self. I seem to cry a lot more but that’s also why I booked in to see my psychiatrist, so that he could help me work through all of that.

Chat with friends. It’s funny, with what I’m going through at the moment, there have been a couple of friends who have shown a lot more care for me than the ones I had thought I was close to, who have listened with half an ear but then not seemed interested. What’s that called, the fair weather friend? Anyway, this is teaching me a lot about some friendships and I have been extremely appreciative and felt loved by those friends who have supported me this week.

I hope you are doing well, if there are any highlights you’d like to share in the comments, please feel free!

Take care,

Jas

Friday Favourites, 5 February

Ahh first week of February, where did you go? It was a steadily busy week, but an enjoyable one though. I’m a day late doing this post because I was out with a couple of girlfriends last night and didn’t get home until really late.

Booked holidays! Last weekend I booked two holidays, a quick trip to Melbourne to visit a friend which is next weekend, yay! And then another one to Kangaroo Island over Easter.

Grandparents. Last Sunday I stopped in to visit my grandparents because my grandpa often drives the bus for some school kids when they take them over to Kangaroo Island and so, because we’ve booked an Easter Holiday there, I popped over to see them and talk to him about good things to do over there.

Meditation. One of the things I done with my teams is get them to organise some kind of team bonding, so each quarter on person will organise something, and it can be as short as 20-30 minutes or up to 3 hours. One of my teams decided to do meditation, so we spent an hour on Monday taking a stroll to the park, talking about meditation and then doing a meditation session, and it was really good. I felt so calm and relaxed as well.

Drumming. My other team organised drumming in the park. One of the guys has a few Djembe drums, and another that I can’t remember the name of. So we sat around, we learned three sounds to make with the drums and then we slowly put some of that together to make music. It was lots of fun, a bit challenging but just challenging enough that it kept me really entertained.

Dinner with the girls. Last night a couple of girlfriends and I went down to one of the local Community Clubs for a meal which wasn’t to bad. It was fun catching up with the girls as always and the club did a raffle draw as well, not that I win anything but one of the girls did which was nice.

How was your week this week? Are there any highlights you’d like to share?

Take care,

Jas
